Welcome to motherhood, the scariest hood some may say, haha~! And the scariest part of it all no matter the stage in development, is sleep. If you have a child whom sleeps through the night, this post may not apply to you, although who doesn't love a good lullaby?! I have co-slept, bed shared, and exclusively breastfed primary until after 3 years old with my first daughter. At which point we self weaned, reflecting back that was the best time as far as one on one bonding time. It was our moment just to ourselves, brother and dad were in bed, and it was just the two of us. Although being criticized by even my very own mother (That is another subject in itself). My MIL was supportive though, and I never felt shamed for continuing a nurturing and only natural human interaction. Breastfeeding was what worked for us. Now continuing a similar journey with my second daughter, who's now 15 months old, and still nursing strong.
So besides continuing to breastfeed, lullabies are what keeps the sanity for both baby and mom. Sometimes it's the way the music makes your soul feel, allows you to calm and meditate. I meditate all the time, if I can. It's much needed, especially when you live and breath a 24/7 job. Classical is a favorite in our house, although we do love some nontraditional jams too!
