My son is now seventeen. He's a senior in high school & applying to colleges. Just got his driver's license this past summer. And met his first girlfriend. Where shall I begin? The anxiety levels this all brings is unreal. But yet, so very exciting! So exciting to watch him turn into the wonderful young man he is today.. and continues too be. It has been such an honor to be his mom. No, I may not have gave birth to him, 17 long years ago. No I didn't have the privilege of calling you my son for the first five years of your life. I was not there to kiss you boo boos and read you bedtime stories. But the moment that I fell in love with your father, how could I not fall in love with you too. The word step-mom seems so evil and wicked. ( I grew up watching Disney princess movies & not a single positive stepmom has been portrayed until Sofia the First, though that's pretty new). It was quiet the change and struggle some days to be someone's parent. And no doubt about it being a scary, and yet an exhilarating journey. I am so thrilled to see what the future holds for you and what life will have in store. I am here to support you, no matter the choices you make (as long as you're staying safe, of course.)
